Subject Curricula
Subject Curricula – The Roadmaps for Teaching
Subject curricula are like roadmaps for teaching in primary school. They determine what children learn in each subject and how the lessons are structured. The Ministry of Education provides mandatory guidelines for this, known as subject requirements. Each school develops its own subject curricula based on these, tailored precisely to the school’s profile.
The subject curricula specify which topics are covered in which school year, which methods are used in teaching, which materials – such as books or workbooks – are used, and which skills the students are expected to acquire. They thus provide reliable guidance for all lesson planning.
For parents, the subject curricula offer an important overview: they transparently show what their child is learning in each school year and ensure that all students are taught to the same standards, even if they have different teachers. At the same time, the subject curricula help teachers to structure their lessons in a way that is organized, comprehensible, and comparable.
Below you will find the subject curricula for the subjects taught in the first year of our school: German, Mathematics, Science, Music, Sports, Art, and Religion.
